Patent Administrative Assistant

Cantor Colburn LLP, one of the largest full-service intellectual property law firms in the country, has an immediate opening for a Patent Administrative Assistant primarily focused on Korea originated patent work. This is a full-time remote position that will provide support to attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Preparing and proofing patent forms and documents
\n
• Electronic filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
\n
• Scheduling incoming project work for completion
\n
• Coordinating the receipt of necessary documentation from the client for both US and international recording
\n
• Submitting the necessary documents to the US Patent Trade Office and foreign associates
\n
• Corresponding with clients/foreign associates regarding filing formalities
\n
• Monitoring patent docket daily
\n
• Reviewing/analyzing correspondence from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), foreign national patent offices, and foreign associates
\n
• Time entry and calendaring
\n
• Docket management
\n
• Tracking and reporting status to attorneys and clients
\n

Job Requirements

\n
• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate required   
\n
• 3-5 years of Intellectual Property experience
\n
• Fluent in Korean is preferred, but not required
\n
• Strong attention to detail
\n
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with the firm’s attorneys, clients and foreign associates
\n
• Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize work to meet all client commitment dates
\n
• Knowledge of Inprotech, e-PCT, and USPTO online filing preferred
\n
• Strong MS Excel skills including the ability to extract, manipulate, summarize and report on large quantities of data
\n

Salary Range for this position is $60,000-$90,000
