Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Dermatology Clinic Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse to work in a busy dermatology clinic, providing clinical and administrative support to patients and providers. You will use your dermatology or family medicine experience to support patient care, manage scheduling and phone inquiries, and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently to support smooth clinic operations.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, providing information, taking messages, and directing calls as needed.
  • Assist with insurance verifications to ensure coverage is confirmed prior to patient visits.
  • Support dermatology providers with patient flow and basic clinical tasks within the scope of an LPN license.
  • Document patient information and visit details in the electronic health record system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with other clinic staff to maintain an organized, efficient, and patient-focused environment.
  • Follow clinic policies and procedures to promote patient safety, confidentiality, and quality of care.
Essential Skills
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Experience in dermatology or family medicine settings.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, including Epic.
  • Ability to schedule patients and manage appointment calendars.
  • Strong phone etiquette and experience answering and handling patient calls.
  • Skill in assisting with insurance verifications and related administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a dermatology clinic is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working with medical terminology and clinical workflows.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and clinical staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and patient volumes in a fast-paced setting.
Work Environment

The position is based in a busy dermatology clinic with patient-facing responsibilities and frequent interaction with clinical and administrative staff. The clinic operates between approximately 7:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and the LPN schedule typically falls between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. within these hours. You will work primarily on-site using electronic health record systems, including Epic, and standard medical office equipment. The environment is fast-paced and requires flexibility, professionalism, and a neat, professional appearance appropriate for a clinical setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
